Operations launched in Ankara and Istanbul following TUSAŞ attack: 68 detained
Following the terrorist attack on TUSAŞ, operations were launched in Ankara and Istanbul, resulting in the detention of 68 individuals who participated in PKK/KCK organizational activities and engaged in terrorist propaganda.
DETENTION WARRANTS FOR 33 SUSPECTS
Within the scope of the PKK/KCK investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism Crimes Investigation Bureau, detention warrants were issued for 33 suspects identified as having participated in organizational activities in Ankara and having engaged in propaganda that praised and legitimized the methods of force and violence used by the separatist terrorist organization.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATIONS CONDUCTED
Simultaneous operations were launched by teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Counter-Terrorism Branch to apprehend the suspects and refer them to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
ACTION TAKEN IN ISTANBUL AS WELL
In an investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Bureau, 44 suspects operating within the PKK/KCK terrorist organization were identified.
It was determined that 34 of the suspects were involved in the organization's youth wing and were seeking to carry out street actions in Istanbul, primarily involving Molotov cocktails.
35 SUSPECTS APPREHENDED
The investigation revealed that 3 suspects had been trained by the terrorist organization in rural areas and sent to Istanbul, while 6 suspects were found to have provided financing to organization members.
Following the prosecutor's decision, 35 suspects were detained in simultaneous operations conducted by police teams at numerous addresses.
Efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects are ongoing.
