Osman Kavala, whose aggravated life sentence in the Gezi Park trial was upheld by the Court of Cassation, stated, "This ruling has become the most striking indicator that convicting people without evidence has become the norm in the judiciary."
Osman Kavala issued a statement regarding the Court of Cassation 3rd Criminal Chamber's decision to uphold the aggravated life sentence handed down to him in the Gezi Park Trial.

Criticizing the Court of Cassation, Kavala drew attention to the unlawfulness of the decision in his statement, noting the following:
