ÖSYM issues 'inadvertent' correction regarding National Defense University exam

The Assessment, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) has issued a correction statement regarding a message sent to exam proctors for the National Defense University (MSÜ) exam.

The statement noted that the message in question was sent 'inadvertently'.

"As stated in the exam application guide, candidates must be citizens of the Republic of Turkey to take the National Defense University exam.

Individuals who are not citizens of the Republic of Turkey do not have the right to apply for the MSÜ exam.

Since the message in question was among the informational messages sent to all exam proctors, it was sent inadvertently for this specific exam," the statement read.

ÜMİT ÖZDAĞ HAD REACTED

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ had alleged that ÖSYM sent a message to those who would serve as proctors for the National Defense University exam, stating: "Dear Proctor, candidates whose residence permit type is listed as 'humanitarian' or 'long-term' on the back of the Residence Permit Document issued by the T.R. Ministry of Interior Presidency of Migration Management will be able to take the exam regardless of their nationality. Thank you for your sensitivity."

Sharing the message on his social media account, Özdağ had asked, "Is this true?"
