According to a report by Ekol TV, Gülmez was among several individuals detained in Istanbul as part of an operation against the "Selahattin Yılmaz criminal organization".
Ersan Gülmez, who is also known as a social media influencer, had recently drawn attention for his ostentatious posts. Videos showing him with stacks of cash and footage of him traveling in a vehicle equipped with emergency lights had sparked public debate.
