Özel's first reaction to the prison request for İmamoğlu: 'I am telling that mobile guillotine': 'We will see who is tougher'

A response has come from Özel regarding the 7-year and 4-month prison sentence requested for IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Emphasizing that they want an early election, Özel reacted to Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek.

Ahmet Özer has also been waiting for an indictment for 100 days. It is not clear when it will be written. An indictment was written in 5 days. What is the rush for? Does the great Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office have nothing else to do? It writes an indictment in 5 days... If you can write it, why are you keeping Ahmet Özer waiting? Because if he writes his, it is clear that he will not receive a sentence. He is innocent. They couldn't make up anything. But for İmamoğlu, there is both a request for a political ban and a request for a prison sentence. What kind of fear is this, my friend. Also, some say that the candidate debate in the CHP should end. We set out saying we will determine our candidate. We have made a decision for a primary election. The society and the party have risen up. Some people from the media, from here and there, say why are you in a hurry?

It has also become a symbol of the struggle in Turkey. Extracting a terrorist organization from here can only be the lot of Erdoğan. We have no blood on our hands. It is clean. Our foreheads are clear, our hands are clean. Those who have the blood of this nation on their hands should not talk about blood. The blood of those who died in the earthquake zone has been on the hands of those who have been managing this country for 21 years. The blood of those who lost their lives all over Turkey between losing power on June 7 and November 1 is on the hands of those who were in power at that time. Those who have the blood of our child Berkin Elvan on their hands should not turn to us and talk about a bloody terrorist organization. The CHP is the party of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Using that party in the same sentence as a terrorist organization is insolence. Let him know his place.''
