'Özel-Kılıçdaroğlu' tension at CHP's holiday celebration: Emphasis on institutional identity

In his opening speech, Yaşar stated that there were no issues regarding unity and solidarity within the party, adding that the CHP organization in Karabük acts in unison.

CHP Karabük Deputy Cevdet Akay met with party members at the holiday celebration program held at his party's provincial headquarters. During the program, some party members stated that they were expecting a statement from the deputy regarding the recent process within the CHP.

It was reported that at the holiday celebration program in Safranbolu, some party members reacted to Akay's failure to make an explicit statement regarding his support for Özgür Özel. Following the reactions, a brief tension occurred between the party members and the deputy.

Speaking in response to the criticisms directed at him, Akay emphasized institutional identity, noting that he had served during the terms of both chairmen. Akay said, "I worked with both chairmen. While working with both chairmen, I worked with all my strength, adhering to the institutional identity. I am one of the deputies who did not want this process and did not want to encounter this situation. There is no issue we have not encountered within this 3-year period. There have been attempts to intervene in the party in many ways."

Safranbolu Mayor Elif Köse, who also spoke at the holiday celebration program, said that they continue their work in line with the vision put forward by Özgür Özel.
