Özgür Demirtaş announces: Prof. Dr. Atakan Yalçın died in the Kartalkaya fire

It has emerged that one of those who lost their lives in the fire at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort was Prof. Dr. Atakan Yalçın. Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş announced in a post on his social media account that Yalçın, the Dean of the Özyeğin Faculty of Business, had passed away.

The fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Resort, began at 03:30 last night. While the hotel building was quickly engulfed in flames, many citizens died in the fire. 

Sharing a post on the X platform, Sabancı University Finance Chair Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş provided the news of Yalçın's death.

Demirtaş shared the following message on his social media account:

'My dear friend Atakan. Oh Atakan, oh... I love you so much, my dear Atakan. We lost Prof. Dr. Atakan Yalçın in the fire. I just received the tragic news. It is unbearable. I will never forget how you explained things to me so clearly during my doctoral years.'
