Özgür Özel accepts condolences alongside the Durbay family
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel accepted condolences alongside the family of Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, who passed away in his hometown of Manisa.
Manisa's Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, who had been receiving treatment for colon cancer for some time, passed away on Sunday, December 14, at Manisa City Hospital. The death of Mayor Durbay, who was warmly embraced by the people of Manisa throughout her tenure, plunged the entire city into mourning. Mayor Durbay, who was bid farewell by tens of thousands of people at the funeral ceremony held yesterday, was laid to rest in Koldere Neighborhood of Saruhanlı district in her hometown of Manisa.
Upon receiving the news, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel arrived in his hometown of Manisa and did not leave the Durbay family or party members alone for a moment.
Chairman Özel, who did not leave Manisa after the funeral, accepted condolences today alongside Mayor Durbay's father Osman and mother Fatma, together with Manisa Metropolitan Mayor Besim Dutlulu, CHP Manisa Deputies Ahmet Vehbi Bakırlıoğlu and Bekir Başevirgen, CHP Manisa Provincial Chairman İlksen Özalper, and leading party officials.
The sorrow experienced by Chairman Özel during the condolence ceremony held at the Manisa Fatih Exhibition Hall was notable.
