Özgür Özel calls for a rally in Eskişehir: 'We will support their struggle'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality following his visit to the Afyonkarahisar Municipality. Özel, who also visited the CHP Provincial Headquarters, addressed citizens from a platform set up in front of the building.

"WE CANNOT KEEP UP"

Özel stated that the former Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen served the city for years and passed the torch to Ayşe Ünlüce, a woman of the Republic, during the handover.

Stating that they won the local elections with the "Turkey alliance" and that the alliance continues to grow with great morale, Özel said, "We cannot keep up with the demand for membership registration forms in the Republican People's Party's membership campaign. There are queues of young people. We have stands where nearly 50 registrations are made in 45 minutes. Ankara cannot keep up with the young member registrations. Twins come, we laugh, we are surprised; the next week triplets come, we are pleased; quadruplets come. Our family is growing, the father's house is growing," he said.

CALL FOR RALLIES

Özel explained that they would make the people's voice heard from the highest level without fearing the streets or avoiding the squares.

Making evaluations regarding teacher appointments, Özel noted the following:

"Throughout the campaign, we stood behind the demand for 68 thousand appointments without interviews, in accordance with the demands of the teachers who were promised that interviews would be abolished. We opened our podium and microphones to these demands, but last Monday, Mr. Erdoğan did not announce it himself; he left it to the Minister of National Education the next day. When the Minister of National Education said only '20 thousand appointments' on Tuesday, the hopes of our youth were dashed. Then, when we said, 'Where is the promise that you would not conduct interviews? Mr. Erdoğan promised on May 14 and May 28 that 'we are abolishing interviews,' you wrote it in your election manifesto. You asked for votes from the youth and their families like this, you collected votes like this,' they said, 'We will conduct an interview that is like an interview.'"
