Özgür Özel denies reports that 'MHP will not meet with CHP': 'Bahçeli is satisfied with CHP's stance'
MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir announced that they had decided not to meet with the Republican People's Party (CHP) regarding the "Terror-Free Turkey" process. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel denied the post made by Özdemir, stating, "There is no institutional decision from the MHP."
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, in a statement made while leaving an event he attended, denied the statement made by MHP Deputy Chairman İsmail Özdemir that 'MHP and CHP will not meet'.
Özel used the following expressions regarding the post in question:
My interlocutor is Mr. Bahçeli; we said we would not engage in polemics regarding him... We will not enter into a debate over a tweet by a young friend of ours.
I am already following Mr. Bahçeli's health status through Mr. Celal Adan, and we are in contact with him.
Mr. Bahçeli is satisfied with our stance!
Turkey needs unity and solidarity, not tension. We also want the MHP Chairman to return to politics as soon as possible. We will not enter the arena that our young friend wants to pull us into through the post he made.
We wish Mr. Bahçeli a speedy recovery once again; I pray for his health until he returns to his post, and I cannot say anything else.
