Özgür Özel explains by saying 'all coups'

Özel stated the following:

“All coups are carried out based on the premise of not digesting those whom the nation has elected, whom the nation has crowned, and whom the nation has entrusted with duty; they are about forcibly taking the authority given by the nation, tearing it away from the people, tearing it away from service, and replacing them with someone else. 

This country, having been saved from occupation and foreign military boots by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends, has been living and keeping alive a very important process, a republic, for 102 years, with the call to prayer being recited again in its mosques, worship being performed freely, the red flag with the crescent and star waving freely, and the determination, identification, and declaration of this country's own sovereignty. However, from time to time, this country has been greatly harmed and set back by various military coups, sometimes by memorandums, and sometimes by failed coup attempts. Because what is essential is not the military; what is essential is not the unfair state powers used by those who are appointed but not elected. 

What is essential is the choice of the nation, the national will, unconditionally. As Atatürk expressed in the Amasya Circular, sovereignty belongs unconditionally to the nation. Today, those who are trying to break the strong wrists of the hands that serve the nation—hands that have been elected by the lawful votes of the nation and have not been bent until this election—with the cudgel of the judiciary have embarked on a great insolence and injustice. A coup attempt took place, saying to the elected mayor of Istanbul, 'We will put you in Silivri prison with allegations of corruption...' God forbid. 'With allegations of terrorism...' May God grant them wisdom. '...We will appoint a trustee in your place. We will forcibly take the authority that the people of Istanbul did not give to us.'"

“WE ARE DETERMINED TO STRUGGLE ALONGSIDE HIM”

“A while ago, a martyr's father from Fatih, whose hand is worthy of being kissed, said, 'Every evening,' he says, 'I open the window, I listen to you from Saraçhane.' The voice that gives hope to my father, the voice that will not surrender Ekrem President's trust to a trustee, is the voice of the 100 thousands, 500 thousands, and millions who gathered in Saraçhane. It is the voice of democracy. As Ekrem President's fellow travelers and political allies, we are determined to the end to hear that voice, to be with that voice, to protect the trust our nation has placed in him, and to struggle alongside him until our nation gives him a new mandate, until our nation deems him worthy of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey.” 

“WE WILL IMPLEMENT ALL REGULATIONS IN THE FIRST MONTH OF OUR GOVERNMENT”

“For a future where no distinction is made among veterans, no distinction is made among martyrs' families, all opportunities and conditions are combined at the highest level, and every martyr's family and every veteran's relative is given the opportunities they deserve, we are working for you with four main headings and 18 separate legislative amendments, thanks to the efforts of my Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu, who is a retired Rear Admiral himself, and the superior efforts of your valuable mayor, my fellow townsman. We have talked until we are blue in the face, they won't do it. Recently, the promising statements of our Chief of General Staff, and our Minister of National Defense—I am following closely, if there is something positive, I pledge full support; if not, I promise that during the government of our President Ekrem İmamoğlu, we will implement all regulations as the ruling group of the Parliament within the first month. May God accept your fasts, your tarawih prayers, all the worship performed throughout the month of Ramadan, and all the prayers that pass through your hearts. I hope we will all reach the approaching Night of Power and the holiday together, and be together on the most beautiful days. I offer my respects to you all. May God accept it.”
