Özgür Özel had exposed the 'corruption' of the AKP municipality: The report has emerged

The AKP-run Ordu Çatalpınar Municipality carried out a tender for the purchase of 11,926 m² of concrete paving stones to renovate the sidewalks in the district, and delivery slips were issued by the company indicating that the stones had been delivered to the municipality. However, despite the delivery records, it was noticed that only a very small portion of the concrete paving stones in question had been brought to the district.

Following complaints that the 11,926 m² of paving stones were not brought to the district despite being purchased with a 5 million TL grant received from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation into the Çatalpınar Municipality.

THE REPORT REVEALED

Within the scope of the investigation, an expert initiated an examination in the district regarding allegations that only 3,000 m² of stones were delivered to the Çatalpınar Municipality instead of the 11,926 m² of paving stones.

In the expert report obtained by BirGün, it was clearly stated that approximately 429,350 concrete paving stones, which would cover an area of 11,926 m² and were supposed to be laid on the roads or kept in piles, were not present in Çatalpınar.

The report stated, "Even if it is assumed that a vehicle loaded with maximum interlocking concrete paving stones carries 7,200 units, there should be a pile equivalent to 53 vehicles. As can be understood by looking at the images in these reports, it is highly probable and evident that there is no pile of 53 vehicles."

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had brought the corruption allegation regarding the AKP-run Çatalpınar Municipality in Ordu to the agenda.

Özel had stated, "The AKP-run Çatalpınar Municipality... They have committed an unimaginable act of corruption in Çatalpınar. The Ministry of Environment provides grant support to this municipality. They were to purchase 10,000 square meters of paving stones. That makes exactly 50 trucks. The money for 10,000 square meters is paid, but while 50 trucks are expected, only 15 arrive. A total of 3,000 square meters; this is being pursued, objections are being raised, it is officially a case of being caught red-handed. In the middle of the night, while 7,000 square meters of paving stones were being brought in 11 trucks from other provinces, they were caught on camera. They are committing theft and corruption. When caught, they are found transporting stones that had already been paid for by another municipality. Have you summoned this mayor, have you opened an investigation, have you held them accountable? Unfortunately, those who do not build roads for Ordu are finding their own way in Çatalpınar. These squares are rebelling against this injustice and this unfairness."
