Özgür Özel had reacted harshly to TRT: They broadcast the group meeting live

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had criticized TRT's broadcasting policies and the time allocated to his party during the election period, stating that it had given 2,952 minutes to President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, while giving him only 43 minutes.

Özel had also said, "I do not want TRT at my funeral; those who are not present while I am alive should have no interest in my death."

ÖZEL AND THE TRT GENERAL MANAGER HAD SPOKEN

Özgür Özel had spoken on the phone with TRT General Manager Mehmet Zahid Sobacı in recent days to receive information about TRT employees who were attacked by Israel in Gaza.

In a statement made by the CHP, it was said, "CHP Chairman Özgür Özel called TRT General Manager Mehmet Zahid Sobacı on the phone and received information about the TRT employees injured in the attack carried out by Israel on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in Gaza. During the call, Özel conveyed his get-well wishes for TRT cameraman Sami Shehadeh and TRT reporter Sami Berhum, who were injured in the attack."

ÖZGÜR ÖZEL HAD MADE A REFERENCE ON ELECTION DAY

CHP leader Özel had used the following expressions after the election victory:

"I had said we have a surprise for TRT; for the first time since 1977, the CHP is currently the leading party on TRT screens. The most important message of the success we achieved today is this; the CHP has now broken the invisible 25 percent ceiling over its head, it has shattered it into pieces."
