Özgür Özel's statement on İmralı: 'We support a transparent process'
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made a statement regarding the meeting held by DEM Party members Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder with Öcalan in İmralı.
CHP leader Özgür Özel evaluated the messages conveyed by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan during his meeting with DEM Party members Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder. Speaking to the ANKA News Agency, Özel said, "We support the process being conducted transparently. One of our most important criteria is that the sensitivities of the families of martyrs and our veterans are taken into account."
Stating, "We are following the developments within this framework; the information we currently have is not sufficient to make an in-depth comment," Özel added, "Once we have a grasp of the details, we will conduct evaluations within our authorized bodies and share them with the public."

DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan and Istanbul MP Sırrı Süreyya Önder met with PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan in İmralı yesterday.

The written statement by Buldan and Önder included the remarks made by Abdullah Öcalan.
In his statement, Abdullah Öcalan said, "I possess the competence and determination to provide the necessary positive contribution to the new paradigm empowered by Mr. Bahçeli and Mr. Erdoğan."
Öcalan had stated, "The delegation will share this approach of mine with both the state and political circles. In light of these, I am ready to take the necessary positive step and make the call."
