Özgür Özel is heading to Istanbul

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has decided to go to Istanbul. A large number of CHP executives have also set off for Istanbul with Özel to closely monitor the process regarding Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat. Özel is expected to speak in front of the municipal building at 20:00.

According to the report by Mustafa Mert Bildircin from Birgün, Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel is going to Istanbul.

After meeting with his staff at the CHP Headquarters, Özel decided to travel to Istanbul. It has been learned that many CHP executives have set off for Istanbul alongside Özel to closely follow the process regarding the detained Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat.

CHP leader Özgür Özel stated during the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting that the government's attitude toward CHP-run municipalities aims to 'discredit' them, and he reiterated his emphasis on 'struggling together, without conflict, and arm in arm.'

Özel is expected to make a speech in front of the Beşiktaş Municipality at 20:00. Ekrem İmamoğlu will also be at the Beşiktaş Municipality at 19:00.

Meanwhile, following the detention of Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat in the morning hours, the CHP Istanbul organization gathered in front of the municipal building.
