Özgür Özel issues video call for Maltepe rally

In the video he shared on his social media account, Özel stated the following:

"Dear young people, mothers, fathers, our precious elders, my very valuable citizens who demand a fair and democratic country. We are going through days where we are witnessing history.

"15.5 MILLION OF OUR CITIZENS CAME, VOTED FOR EKREM İMAMOĞLU, AND MADE HISTORY"

We are witnessing the determination of the honorable and conscientious citizens of the Republic of Turkey to protect democracy and their own will.

On Sunday, March 23, 15.5 million of our citizens came, voted for our presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu in the primary, and made history.

Millions, especially the youth, who fill the squares and streets every day and repelled the March 19 coup, said, 'from now on, let hope prevail, not fear', 'we will draw strength from each other, I am here too', 'the word no longer belongs to just one person, but to the nation'.

Valuable soldiers of our struggle for democracy, know that the candidacy of our President Ekrem is the beginning of a journey that will be the guarantee of equality, justice, bright tomorrows, and most importantly, the sovereignty of our nation.

Let us be a single voice against the unlawful arrests targeting Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has touched the conscience of the nation, and all our fellow travelers. For the present and future of Turkey, let us carry our country to bright days together.
