Özgür Özel reacts sharply to the investigation launched against Cemal Enginyurt: 'I am addressing the Mobile Guillotine'

Özel expressed his support for Cemal Enginyurt, against whom an ex officio investigation was launched on charges of "insulting and threatening the President" following the speech he gave after his badge was pinned at his party's group meeting.

In a statement on his social media account, Özel used the following expressions:

"I am addressing the Mobile Guillotine in Istanbul. You have launched an investigation into our Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt, who joined our party today, even though you know you lack the authority. A deputy speaking within the confines of Parliament has parliamentary immunity; if there is an allegation of a crime committed outside, the authority to investigate lies with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Parliamentary Crimes Investigation Bureau. Your investigation is an act of incompetence, and the court's decision will be a lack of jurisdiction. But know this: you are not on our agenda. Our agenda is to grow the Turkey Alliance. Our agenda is to win by uniting. Our agenda is to change the government that brought you to these positions you do not deserve. Welcome to our ranks, Cemal Enginyurt, Salih Uzun."

WHAT HAPPENED?

Istanbul Deputy Cemal Enginyurt and Izmir Deputy Salih Uzun, who resigned from the Democrat Party, joined the CHP at the CHP group meeting held in Parliament today.

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel pinned the badges of Uzun and Enginyurt.

In the speech he gave after his badge was pinned, Cemal Enginyurt expressed his support for the lieutenants dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). Enginyurt said, "There is someone at our helm who tries to make us say 'either you are mine or you are dead.' We will not be yours, nor will we be dead. We did not come to be yours, and we will not be. We came to be soldiers of Mustafa Kemal," said Erdoğan.

Enginyurt continued as follows:

"I am speaking on behalf of those in Silivri. Shame on us if we do not put you in the dungeons where we were held innocent. Even if the 'Jelibon' fools do not understand this, we were elected with the halal votes of the CHP. We did not come to the CHP to be leashed puppets who stand when told to stand, sit when told to sit, come when told to come, and go when told to go; we came for a strong will."

JET INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AGAINST ENGİNYURT

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an ex officio investigation against Istanbul Deputy Enginyurt on charges of "insulting and threatening the President" following the speech he gave in Ankara.
