Özgür Özel reacts to the arrest of Rıza Akpolat! 'Those who keep the spirit of FETÖ alive...'
Reacting to the arrest of Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, CHP leader Özgür Özel stated, "The mud slung by the owners of this dirty order, by those who keep the spirit of FETÖ alive, has never touched us and never will. We will stand tall with our nation; we will not surrender to this dirty order."
Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat has been arrested as part of an investigation into allegations that a criminal organization, allegedly led by Aziz İhsan Aktaş, organized tenders by bribing mayors and high-level municipal officials.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel reacted to the arrest decision issued against Akpolat.
In a post on his X account, Özel said, "The mud slung by the owners of this dirty order, by those who keep the spirit of FETÖ alive, has never touched us and never will."
Özel's post is as follows:
"Let everyone know that the arrest decision issued against our Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat without a single piece of evidence, based on the testimony of a so-called secret witness, will not make a single Republican People's Party member take a step back.
The mud slung by the owners of this dirty order, by those who keep the spirit of FETÖ alive, has never touched us and never will. We will stand tall with our nation; we will not surrender to this dirty order.
Every one of our members and every one of our citizens who believes in justice will fight with greater responsibility, and this government, which tramples on law and democracy, will not be able to escape being defeated by the will of the nation."
