Özgür Özel reacts to SGK: 90 percent of receivables belong to AKP-affiliated contractors

Özgür Özel reacts to SGK: 90 percent of receivables belong to AKP-affiliated contractors

Reactions continue following the Ministry of Labor and Social Security's initiation of foreclosure proceedings against 6 municipalities on the grounds that they have not paid their SGK debts. CHP leader Özgür Özel participated in a tour of the Capital Ankara Development Project (BAKAP) Agricultural Campus and Recreation area.

Touring the area with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş, Özel answered questions from members of the press after the tour.

Evaluating the praise-filled words of US President Donald Trump, who was elected president for the second time in the recent elections, regarding Erdoğan, Özel spoke as follows:

"Erdoğan's silence is significant. We feel great shame at these statements. We completely reject this. In these processes, we do not want institutions to be worn down, but for diplomatic institutions to be operated. Those who are carried away by Trump's praise today should not be surprised tomorrow by where that flood they were carried away by takes them. Turkey-America relations are relations that span years and should go well for a long time."

Regarding the investigations launched into CHP municipalities following AKP President Erdoğan's 'shake-up' instruction, Özgür Özel said the following:

"The people the AK Party knows are at the top of the list, which is why they are not disclosing the list. In this country, the poorest people pay taxes, while the richest do not. If it were disclosed, it would be full of the forty thieves. 10 percent of the SGK's receivables belong to municipalities of all parties. 90 percent belong to the contractors that the AK Party loves so much. Without disclosing these, by going after this, it means 'I am intolerant, I cannot compete with Mansur Yavaş, so let's tie his hands.' The money they have set their sights on is the money for social aid. They have set their sights on meat and milk; they have set their sights on the scholarships given to university students and the milk given to primary school students. The nation will hold them accountable for this sooner or later."
