Özgür Özel removes Espressolab from boycott list: 'The decision is up to the youth'
The Republican People's Party (CHP) was in Şişli for the 60th 'Defending the National Will' rally, launched in response to operations targeting the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) and CHP-led municipalities. During the event, Özel made a statement regarding the change they made to their boycott list.
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel recalled that they had initiated a boycott against media outlets that failed to broadcast the rallies—which reached 1 million participants during the Saraçhane process—and the brands associated with them.
Regarding Espressolab, which they had added to the boycott list at the request of students, Özel said, "Espressolab came to us. We directed them to the youth. We also directed our youth branches.
They came with a proposal, stating that they would donate the entire profit from all university campuses to a fund created for scholarships for students harmed during the March 19 coup attempt, as well as for the children of those who were fired or imprisoned. We have removed them from the boycott list as an institution; the decision is up to the youth."
"WE REMOVED THEM FROM THE BOYCOTT LIST"
You ran from 7 kilometers away, you became hundreds of thousands, you became a million, and you repelled the trustee. There were those who ignored that square. We told those who ignored us that we would not see those who do not see us. There was NTV. Before that day, their rating was 2.5. Have you seen their latest rating? It is 0.47. Let them get worse!
Espressolab came to us. We directed them to the youth. We also directed our youth branches. Their turnover dropped to one-tenth. They came with a proposal, stating that in whichever campus they are located, they would donate the entire profit from all university campuses to a fund created for scholarships for students harmed during the March 19 coup attempt, as well as for the children of those who were fired or imprisoned. We have removed them from the boycott list as an institution; the decision is up to the youth."
