Özgür Özel responds to Erdoğan's 'watch your step' warning: 'Are you going to send tanks to the party headquarters?'
CHP leader Özgür Özel spoke at the "Come and Choose, Make History" meeting. Responding to Erdoğan's "Watch your step" remarks, Özel said, "The President wants to remain without rivals if possible. He tells me, 'Watch your step, or we know how to make you watch it.' What are you going to do? Are you going to send tanks to the party headquarters?"
Following Ekrem İmamoğlu, CHP leader Özgür Özel took the podium at the meeting introduced as the CHP's primary election launch, titled "Come and Choose, Make History."
Responding to Erdoğan's remarks directed at him yesterday during the Extended Provincial Chairs Meeting, where he said, "Watch your step, or we know how to make you watch it," Özel stated, "The President wants to remain without rivals if possible. He tells me, 'Watch your step, or we know how to make you watch it.' What are you going to do? Are you going to send tanks to the party headquarters?"
Özel addressed Erdoğan as follows:
'BRING IT ON!'
"Are you going to attack us with cannons and rifles! Or are you going to set the mafias you are in contact with upon us! Sir, we are both sitting in chairs. The chair you occupy is the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey. It is valuable; it is clear how much you value it and what you have turned that chair into, but the other chair is the chairmanship of the party founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk; it is his chair. You cannot intimidate the chairman of the party of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who set out alone without fearing tanks, cannons, death warrants, or the execution orders issued against him, and who saved a country and founded this Republic, nor can you intimidate a single one of its members. Bring it on!"
