Özgür Özel responds to Erdoğan's 'Israel's target is Turkey' claim! A jab at Bahçeli regarding DEM Party

Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel visited the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality.

Speaking to members of the press there, Özgür Özel stated, "I have always said, 'If there is no livelihood, there will be an election.' I ask, is there a livelihood in Turkey today? The squares say no. The squares are roaring for an 'early election'."

Özgür Özel continued: "Under these conditions, Erdoğan's stubbornness about 'completing 5 years' is futile. It does not solve poverty, unemployment, or insecurity. Next year in November marks the halfway point of his term. If there is an early election, we will all go before the nation together. If there is no early election, pushing this nation into hunger and poverty and then saying towards the end of the 5 years, 'come, let's hold the elections 6 months early, let me be a candidate.' There is no such thing!"

"WE WANT AN EARLY ELECTION"

Reiterating his demand for an early election, Özel said, "If he says, 'Let's hold the election in March 2025' at the latest by November next year, I am ready from yesterday. I am ready from today, I will run to the ballot box, and my party is in power. We want an early election," he said.

"I HAVE NO AMBITION FOR CANDIDACY"

Speaking about his potential presidential candidacy, Özel stated, "Personally, I have no candidacy, no ambition, and no demands for myself. My demand is for my nation and my country. My goal is to make the CHP the ruling party."

BAHÇELİ'S HANDSHAKE WITH DEM PARTY MPS

Regarding MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli shaking hands with DEM Party MPs, Özel said:

“In the past, they accused us of being hand-in-hand with a terrorist organization just because we shook hands with HDP MPs. I am speaking for Devlet Bahçeli; he went and shook hands with the party he said should be 'shut down' and called a 'nest of terror.' I have never shaken hands or embraced anyone as fervently as Mr. Devlet did in the past.”

"IF THERE IS A THREAT REGARDING THE ISRAEL ISSUE, WE WANT TO KNOW"

Stating that "the biggest problems in Turkey are the cost of living and unemployment," Özel noted the following regarding AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's "Israel's target is Turkey" statement:

"We want information regarding Turkey's security issue.

If there is a threat regarding the Israel issue, we want to know. Israel does not have the power to take on Turkey. We would all stand up to that Netanyahu together. But we will not let this issue cover up Turkey's real problems."
