Özgür Özel responds to 'red card' criticisms: 'We have launched a campaign'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had called on retirees and all segments of society struggling with the cost of living to show a 'red card' to the AKP government at a mass opening event organized by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality. Özel had announced the call with the words, 'We will make a big surprise at 3:00 PM.'

Following Özel's call for retirees and all those struggling with the cost of living to show a 'red card' to the AKP government, journalist Şaban Sevinç shared details of his conversation with Özel.

"SOME ARE UNDERESTIMATING IT, BUT"

Sevinç reported that Özel used the following expressions regarding the 'red card' call: 

"We will distribute a red card to every retiree. We will spread this action in waves. Some are underestimating this, but we have launched a campaign to bring the ballot box in 2025. The main theme of all rallies will be the red card.

On the back of the red cards we distribute, there will be a comparison of the purchasing power of pension salaries before and after Erdoğan."
