Özgür Özel takes action on refugees: To call for a 'closed census'

One of the agenda items at the Republican People's Party (CHP) Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting, held yesterday under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, was the violent incidents that began following allegations that a Syrian national sexually abused a 7-year-old child in Kayseri.

According to a report by Eray Görgülü from Ekol TV, while detailed information was provided to Chairman Özel regarding the events in Kayseri during the meeting, the "Syria dossier" that the CHP has been working on was also discussed. Yankı Bağcıoğlu and Murat Bakan stated that, in order to accurately determine the number of refugees, a closed census should be conducted by implementing a curfew, as has been done in previous years. Both individuals noted that this is the only way to reveal the true number, and added that the number of refugees in each province must also be identified.

As a result of the evaluations, it was learned that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has taken the proposal under consideration and will raise this issue in the coming days. In this context, Özgür Özel will make a call to the government and demand that a closed census be conducted as soon as possible.
