It has been claimed that YENİ Party Chairman Özgür Özel is working on a new alliance formula ahead of the upcoming elections.
Journalist Sinan Burhan, known for his proximity to the government, shared information he obtained from Ankara’s political corridors. According to the claims relayed by Burhan, Özel plans to establish a new political union under the name “Turkey Alliance” instead of the “Nation Alliance” by establishing contact with political parties on the nationalist spectrum.
NATIONALIST PARTIES ARE ON ÖZEL’S AGENDA
Speaking on Tv100, Burhan stated that political traffic in Parliament has intensified and that meetings have been held with some nationalist parties.
According to Burhan’s claim, Özgür Özel is making preparations to form a “Turkey Alliance” that would also include nationalist parties during the election process.
It was stated that the names of parties such as the İYİ Party, Zafer Party, Kutlu Party, Ata Party, and Milli Yol Party have been brought up in the search for this alliance.
While it is suggested that the primary reason for the search for an alliance is to reach the required vote percentage in the elections, it was claimed that meetings with different political parties in this direction will be intensified in the coming period.
“THAT WING OF OURS IS MISSING”
Burhan alleged that during a meeting with a party leader, Özgür Özel said regarding the search for an alliance, “We were together with the İYİ Party in the past period. We also need to be together with parties from the Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu tradition. That wing of ours is missing.”
Stating that Özel’s search for an alliance is linked to his election goal, Burhan used the expressions, "The reason for this is that it is necessary to get 50+1 percent of the vote while heading to the elections. To be able to get this vote, searches for alliances with all political parties have begun."
CONTACTS EXPECTED TO BEGIN AFTER THE CONGRESS
According to claims in the corridors, comprehensive discussions for the project referred to as the “Turkey Alliance” are expected to begin after the congress planned to be held on November 14-15.
On the other hand, the role that Mansur Yavaş might undertake within the possible alliance and the possibility of his presidential candidacy are also among the topics being discussed in Ankara’s corridors.
Sinan Burhan stated that this alliance initiative will be one of the important discussion topics in Ankara politics in the coming period.
