Özgür Özel's speeches were distorted: A Haber is on RTÜK's radar!
RTÜK Chairman Ebubekir Şahin made a statement regarding the application filed against A Haber, alleging that CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's speech was taken out of context and used to target him. Şahin stated that the broadcasts in question are being examined within the framework of Law No. 6112 and that the legal process is ongoing.
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) member Tuncay Keser had requested that an evaluation report be prepared regarding A Haber and brought to the board's agenda, on the grounds that a speech by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was intentionally edited and broadcast on the "Gece Ajansı" (Night Agency) program on March 24, and that the broadcast was conducted in a way that incites hatred and enmity.

RTÜK Chairman Ebubekir Şahin stated that an investigation into A Haber regarding Keser's application is underway, and noted the following:
"Your application, which claims that a specific portion of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's speech at Istanbul Saraçhane Square was taken out of context and broadcast on the program titled 'Gece Ajansı' aired on the media service provider with the 'A HABER' logo on March 22, 2025, and that he was targeted by the program host and guests through this, thereby violating the Law on the Establishment and Broadcasting Services of Radio and Television No. 6112, has been examined.
The duty of regulating and supervising radio and television broadcasts has been granted to the Radio and Television Supreme Council by the Law on the Establishment and Broadcasting Services of Radio and Television No. 6112. The Radio and Television Supreme Council inspects programs after they are broadcast for compliance with the provisions of the relevant Law, and the Supreme Council does not have the authority to intervene in programs before they are broadcast or to remove programs from the air.
The broadcasts of media service providers are meticulously monitored regularly by our Supreme Council Experts; reports are prepared for broadcasts deemed to be in violation of the provisions of Law No. 6112, and these reports, along with broadcast copies, are evaluated by the Supreme Council. When necessary, sanctions such as warnings, administrative fines, removal from the catalog, suspension of programs, temporary suspension of broadcasts, and cancellation of broadcasting licenses are applied to the organizations in accordance with the provisions of Article 32 of the same Law upon the completion of the legal process.
''BROADCASTS ARE BEING EXAMINED''
