Engin Çağlar, one of the master actors of Yeşilçam, has passed away at the age of 85 as a result of a motorcycle accident. The Film-San Foundation announced Çağlar's death via social media. In the message shared, the foundation stated, "We wish God's mercy upon Engin Çağlar, one of the founding members of the Film-San Foundation and a valuable actor of Turkish Cinema & Yeşilçam, and we extend our condolences to his family and loved ones..."
LOST HIS LIFE AS A RESULT OF A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT
Ekol TV reporter Dilek Yaman Demir reported that Engin Çağlar lost his life after being struck by a motorcycle. Ekol TV also broadcast footage alleged to be of the accident.

WHO IS ENGİN ÇAĞLAR?
Engin Çağlar, whose real name was Çağlan Övet, was born in Istanbul in the 1940s. He was known as one of the most popular male actors of Turkish cinema in the 1960s and 1970s. He shared the lead role in many films with legendary names of Yeşilçam such as Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit, and Fatma Girik.
Known as one of the symbolic figures of the "leading man" characters of the era with both his good looks and gentlemanly demeanor, Çağlar was etched into memory with films such as "Aşka Susayanlar," "Tatlı Dillim," and "Yalnız Adam." After his acting career, the artist turned to production and continued to contribute to the cinema industry in various fields.
