The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has announced the names of the 9 soldiers who lost their lives in a clash with terrorists attempting to infiltrate military bases in the Pençe-Kilit Operation region.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, as a result of the clash with terrorists, Infantry First Lieutenant Gökhan Delen, Infantry Specialist Sergeant Serkan Sayin, Infantry Contracted Private Müslüm Özdemir, Infantry Contracted Private Kemal Batur, Infantry Contracted Private Emrullah Gülmez, Infantry Specialist Sergeant Hakan Gün, Infantry Specialist Sergeant Ahmet Köroğlu, Combat Engineer Contracted Private Murat Atar, and Combat Engineer Contracted Private Muhammed Tunahan Evcin were martyred.

HIS PARENTS WERE STAYING IN A TENT

The painful news of Infantry Contracted Private Müslüm Özdemir, who was martyred in the clash with terrorists attempting to infiltrate a base in the Pençe-Kilit Operation region, reached his parents in Kahramanmaraş. It was learned that the family's house was destroyed in the February 6 earthquakes, and that the martyr's mother, Ümmihani, and father, Ali Özdemir, were staying in a tent because they could not heat the container they were living in. It was observed that 10 heaters were left in the tent where the couple was staying after the painful news arrived.

Nazire Keskin, one of the neighbors of the Özdemir family, stated that they were very saddened by the painful news and said, "We are neighbors of our martyr. I talk to his mother constantly; I talked to her again today. The child's dream was, 'I will buy you a house before I get married.' He was single, he went to the military, he was a very well-mannered child, a noble child. Their house was 2 stories; his uncles lived on the upper floor, and they lived on the lower floor. The house was lost in the earthquake. They were living in a tent," she said.

The other fire of martyrdom fell on the paternal home of Martyr Infantry Contracted Private Emrullah Gülmez in the Hacıkodal neighborhood of the Göksun district. Following the painful news delivered by military officials, the paternal homes of the two martyrs were adorned with Turkish flags. It was learned that the two martyrs from Kahramanmaraş were single.

Military officials arrived at the paternal home of the martyr Delen (31) in the Ereğlikapı neighborhood and delivered the painful news to his mother, Zeynep, and father, Bayram Delen, and their relatives. The martyr's relatives could not hold back their tears upon receiving the painful news.

A medical team began waiting in front of the paternal home of Gökhan Delen, whose balcony was draped with a Turkish flag. It was learned that the martyr, who was single, had 3 siblings.

The painful news of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Serkan Sayin (29) reached his family in Adıyaman.

Military officials delivered the painful news to his father, Hacı, and mother, Emine Sayin, who live in the Bahçelievler neighborhood.

A Turkish flag was hung on the martyr's family home. It was learned that Serkan Sayin had 5 siblings and that his older brother also served as a non-commissioned officer.

Fire department teams hung a Turkish flag on the martyr's paternal home. Relatives and neighbors of Batur, who was learned to be single and have three brothers, came to the house upon hearing the painful news.

The painful news of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Hakan Gün (28), who was martyred in the clash with terrorists attempting to infiltrate a base in the Pençe-Kilit Operation region, reached his family in Gaziantep.

Officials delivered the painful news to his father, Süleyman, and other family members living in the Fatih neighborhood of the central Şehitkamil district.
