Panic in Adana: Hand grenade found on roadside
An unexploded hand grenade found on the roadside in Seyhan, Adana, caused panic. Police teams arriving at the scene upon notification took extensive security measures and closed the street to traffic.
An unexploded hand grenade was found on the roadside in Adana.
According to DHA reports, pedestrians walking on a street in the Kocavezir neighborhood of the central Seyhan district spotted a hand grenade that had been discarded on the side of the road but had not exploded.
Numerous police teams were dispatched to the area following the report. The teams closed the street and surrounding side streets to traffic and cleared the area of bystanders.
A bomb disposal expert retrieved the hand grenade in a controlled manner and placed it into a police vehicle. The hand grenade was sent to the Adana Criminal Police Laboratory for examination.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
