Papara owner Ahmed Faruk Karslı back in custody: Arrest warrant issued following appeal against release decision

Papara owner Ahmed Faruk Karslı had been released by a decision of the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance dated July 7, 2026.

However, the case was moved to a higher court following an appeal by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the release decision in question.

The Istanbul 11th High Criminal Court, following its evaluation, issued an arrest warrant for Karslı. It was reported that Ahmed Faruk Karslı was re-arrested on July 10 as part of the execution of the warrant.

Journalist Murat Ağırel brought another investigation of a similar nature to the agenda in a post on his social media account.

Ağırel asked whether the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had also filed an appeal against the release decision granted to Erkan Kork, the owner of PayFix, Bank Pozitif, İninal, Aypara, and Flash TV, who is being tried under two separate indictments on charges of financing illegal betting and money laundering.

In his post, Murat Ağırel also directed the question of whether any objection had been made by the prosecutor's office regarding the release decision for Erkan Kork.
