Parliament Speaker Kurtulmuş: It must be emphasized that this is no ordinary terrorist attack
Grand National Assembly of Turkey Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş stated, "In such days, when we are faced with such significant attacks, the greatest lesson we can draw is our ability to display a common stance with a national posture, regardless of our differences."
Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş visited those injured in the terrorist attack on the TUSAŞ facility in the Kahramankazan district at Etlik City Hospital.
In his statement there, Kurtulmuş said, "The condition of the wounded here is quite good. It is highly likely that 4 of our wounded brothers and sisters here will be discharged tomorrow. The others will be kept here for a while longer for observation, but I can say that their general condition is very good.
We are experiencing deep sorrow, but I would also like to say that whether it is the brothers and sisters we visited at Bilkent City Hospital just now or here, whether they are TUSAŞ employees or our friends working in special operations or security units, we saw that despite being wounded, despite having experienced such a great disaster and a situation that truly lasted for minutes under bombs, their morale is very high, and they have an extraordinarily high morale regarding the sense of national unity and solidarity in the fight against terrorism. Each of them says, 'May the homeland be safe.'
These friends of ours did not die, they did not become martyrs, but I believe that even though they are veterans, they have earned the reward of martyrdom. Because our belief is to continue this struggle with the conviction of, 'If I die, I am a martyr; if I remain, I am a veteran,'" he expressed.

"THE GREATEST LESSON WE CAN DRAW IS OUR ABILITY TO DISPLAY A COMMON STANCE"
Stating that it must be emphasized that this is no ordinary terrorist attack, Kurtulmuş said, "As a nation, we must follow the process with extraordinary attention from now on, and we must continue on our path by deciphering this attack within the framework of national unity and solidarity. It is not a coincidence that such a treacherous attack was carried out on TUSAŞ, one of the most important facilities of our defense industry.
It is also not a coincidence that this attack was carried out while our President was in Russia for his contacts. By putting all of these together, we must evaluate the supports behind them—political support, logistical support, intelligence support—very well, and continue the struggle in a very vigilant manner, ensuring that no type of terrorism is permitted, realizing that we are not just facing an incident consisting of a few terrorist organization members or a few bandits.
Our most important gain in this struggle is our national unity and solidarity. In such days, when we are faced with such significant attacks, the greatest lesson we can draw is our ability to display a common stance with a national posture, regardless of our differences," he said.
Stating that 85 million citizens and the nation, with all its different opinions, will continue to display a common stance in the face of the terrorist attacks experienced, Kurtulmuş noted the following:

"I hope that this will be permanent and that this common stance will make a great contribution to Turkey's future. Eventually, all terrorist organizations will become unable to operate in Turkey. No matter who is behind them, no matter who provides what support, Turkey will succeed in defeating these terrorist organizations. I once again wish mercy upon our 5 martyred children. May Almighty God grant them the highest place in heaven.
We know that martyrs do not die. Even if martyrs leave us as bodies, their spirits are alive and they will continue to exist among us. I pray that Almighty God grants the reward of martyrdom to our 19 children who are veterans—we discharged 3, 22 people in total. As I expressed to the 22 people, I pray that God grants them the reward of martyrdom along with their veteran status. I pray that He bestows them upon their children, families, and loved ones in this way. My condolences to our nation. I also wish a speedy recovery to our veterans."
