Parliament to establish research commission for school attacks
Following attacks at schools in Şanlıurfa and Kahramanmaraş, a research commission will be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker of Parliament Pervin Buldan.
Before the discussions in the General Assembly, the group deputy chairmen of the political parties took the floor and called for a suspension of the deliberations on the current legislative proposal following an armed attack at a middle school in Kahramanmaraş. Upon this call, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Pervin Buldan suspended the General Assembly for 10 minutes.
When the General Assembly resumed its work after the break, it was decided that a study would be conducted next Tuesday with the joint decision of all parties to prevent armed attacks in schools, and that a research commission would be established within this scope.
