Pensioner pay raise approved in Parliament
The article containing the proposal for a 49.25 percent raise for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensioners has been approved in the General Assembly of Parliament.
SGK and BAĞKUR pensioners' salaries will see a 49.25 percent increase for the first six months of 2024, following the approval of the regulation in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) General Assembly.
REGULATION PASSED BY PARLIAMENT
The Bill on Amendments to the Unemployment Insurance Law and Certain Other Laws is being discussed in the TBMM General Assembly. An amendment was made to Article 7 of the proposal, which initially stipulated increasing the 37.57 percent raise for SGK and Bağ-Kur pensioners for the first six months of 2024 to 42.57 percent by adding an extra 5 percent.
In line with the statements made by the Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, the amendment made to the article via a motion increased the raise rate for SGK and BAĞKUR pensioners to 49.25 percent. Two separate motions submitted by the AKP and CHP were combined, discussed, and approved.
With this regulation, the six-month raise rate for SGK and BAĞKUR pensioners has been brought to the same level as that of civil servants and civil servant pensioners. The raises will be effective starting from January.
