The investigation launched after footage of former Sakaryaspor president Gökhan İn being assaulted spread on social media is expanding. The Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office acted quickly regarding the incident.

PERSON WHO SLAPPED IDENTIFIED

It was determined that the person who slapped Gökhan İn twice in the footage was Cengiz Şen, the manager responsible for Sakaryaspor's advertising and sponsorship affairs. It was revealed that the incident was recorded on a mobile phone by Semih İlkis, one of the club's former managers.

In the footage, Cengiz Şen is seen saying, "There is no press statement anymore, brother. It's over, these things. You will pay the 150 thousand TL that Birol received. Do you hear me?" before slapping Gökhan İn. İn is seen responding with the words, "Okay, son. Calm down. I have a heart condition, you know that, right? Okay."

CENGİZ ŞEN ARRESTED

Cengiz Şen, who previously had 6 separate criminal records for 'assault' and 'threats', was caught by the police in the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul following the incident. Şen was taken into custody on charges of 'extortion' and was arrested by the court he was brought before.
