Photographer Manuel Çıtak laid to rest
Photographer Manuel Çıtak, who passed away, was laid to rest following a funeral ceremony held at the Armenian Church.
At the funeral ceremony held at the Surp Vartanants Armenian Church in Şişli Feriköy, Çıtak's wife, Şebnem İşigüzel, and his children accepted condolences.
The ceremony, attended by Çıtak's relatives, loved ones, and friends, was officiated by Sahak Maşalyan, the Armenian Patriarch of Turkey. Throughout the ceremony, the Bible was read and prayers were recited around the coffin placed on the catafalque in the center of the church.

Manuel Çıtak's body was later laid to rest at the Şişli Armenian Cemetery. The photographer, who passed away at the age of 61 due to a heart attack, was known for his photographs on various subjects such as urban life, people, and the environment.
WHO IS MANUEL ÇITAK?
Born in Malatya in 1962, Manuel Çıtak completed his education at the Saint Michel High School in Istanbul and the Graphic Design Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Çıtak began taking photographs during his travels across Turkey while he was a university student, focusing primarily on people and portraits.
Working independently from press organizations, Çıtak produced photo-essays, and his works were published in various magazines, newspapers, and books both domestically and abroad. Çıtak created documentary photography projects such as the "Miners" panoramas in 1994 and "Kilyos" in 1996. Married to author Şebnem İşigüzel, Çıtak was a father of two.
