Germen's wife, Sema Germen, stated in an interview with T24 that they had arrived at the Çağlayan Courthouse following her husband's detention, but that no official information regarding the grounds for the detention had been provided. Germen said, "There is only an accusation of 'inciting the public to hatred and enmity.' They said there is a single file, but there is no other information."
