He had said 'PKK will lay down arms in February': AKP's Hüseyin Yayman responds to the question 'What will happen if the PKK says we do not accept Öcalan's call?'

AKP Hatay Deputy and Chairman of the TBMM Digital Media Commission Hüseyin Yayman made statements regarding the meeting between the DEM Party and terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan that took place following the call from MHP leader Bahçeli.

In a press conference held at the TBMM on January 2, Yayman had said, "I think that within the month of February, an atmosphere where weapons are laid down in Turkey, the surrender of arms, and the fact that the PKK terrorist organization will no longer carry out actions in Turkey will come to the agenda and be discussed more."

Speaking to Hakan Çelik on a live broadcast on CNN Türk, Yayman gave the following response to the question, "What will happen if the PKK says we do not accept Öcalan's call?":

"The President and Bahçeli will say, we told you to lay down your arms, and you did not accept it. They will say, what more can we do, and they will gain political superiority. The DEM Party, which is in the position of being the PKK's party, will appear to be using Öcalan as a front.

I am analyzing the process with a cause-and-effect relationship. The PKK must lay down its arms; there is no Kurdish problem, there is a terror problem. Here, the PKK needs to see this: there are so-called terror ringleaders there, there are barons, there is no world where they go up to the mountains, there is a terrorist organization that has lost touch with this reality.

If they say we will continue to fight, Turkey is a great state, and the necessary action will be taken."

Here are the highlights from Yayman's statements;

"I am thinking positively; this process will have some problems. I am of the opinion that at the end of the process, Turkey will enter a completely different climate and the terrorist organization will lay down its arms.

REACTION TO ENGİN ALAN: TURKEY SPENDS 10 BILLION DOLLARS ON THE FIGHT AGAINST THE PKK

The First World War breaks out, after the war we lose Arabia and the Middle East, then the Sheikh Said rebellion breaks out. As someone who studies this issue, there are two different policies here. There is nothing left unsaid on this matter. The SHP has a Kurdish report. There is politics without ideas in Turkey. Engin Alan is a valuable commander; let him go and look at what has been said in history. Turkey spends 10 billion dollars on the fight against the PKK.

"THERE IS NO REASON FOR THEM TO STAY ON THE MOUNTAINS"

Our President has said that if there is a problem, I will solve it. It seems strange to speak without knowing. Today, there is no problem called the Kurdish problem. There is radio and TV broadcasting in Kurdish. People spent time in prisons so that this channel could be established.

There were State Security Courts (DGM) in Turkey, everyone was tried, the AK Party abolished them. There was a State of Emergency Governorship. There was a concept called OHAL, the AK Party abolished it. People like Ahmet Türk, who said let a Kurdish Institute be established, were expelled. People could not speak their own language with their children in prison. It was forbidden to publish newspapers and magazines, now Kurdish propaganda is being made. There is no reason for the PKK to stay on the mountains. If the PKK really has a demand for democracy and freedom, these have been provided.

"NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT TURKEY'S CONSENT"

International structures, intelligence agencies like the CIA and MOSSAD, told the criminals in Qandil, what kind of agreement are you making with the Turks, we will give you statelets in Syria, they said. In 2013, the terrorist organization that wanted to obtain a statelet in Syria overturned the table. What is the situation of the PKK in Syria right now? They left Tel Rifaat, they left Manbij, Qamishli, Deir ez-Zor, and they will leave. Nothing happens in this region without Turkey's consent.

"TURKEY WILL BE RID OF A MAJOR PROBLEM"

The head of the PKK, Öcalan, will tell his organization to lay down their arms. There are two scenarios here. Öcalan said to Bahçeli's call, lay down your arms. What will happen, who will have the word? The terrorist organization, what did they say, we are laying down our arms. Why should they lay them down, why should they, there is no reason for them to stay on the mountain. All the problems that existed when the PKK went up to the mountains have been solved. What will happen if they say I have laid down my arms? Turkey will be rid of a major problem."
