According to information obtained from security sources, MIT identified the location of Serhat Özmen, codenamed "Yılmaz," one of the so-called leaders of the PKK/KCK terrorist organization's structure in Syria, where he was hiding abroad. Özmen was captured in the operation and brought to Turkey. It was determined that Özmen, who joined the terrorist organization in 2014, had engaged in armed activities in various regions. It was learned that following his activities in Syria, Özmen had also been involved in the organization's structure in Iraq since the beginning of 2023.
