The PKK's conditions for withdrawal from Syria have emerged. An official speaking to Reuters explained their demands for withdrawing from Syria one by one.
The PKK official stated that they would withdraw from Syria if the SDF remains at the head of the administration in Rojava or holds significant authority in the central government.
The person who provided a written statement to Reuters said the following:
“Any initiative that results in Northeast Syria being governed under the control of the SDF, or the SDF having a significant role in a joint leadership, would lead us to agree to leave the region.”
The PKK official said that if the organization leaves Syria, it will continue to monitor the region and will take action against Turkish-backed forces if there is an attack on the SDF.
