In poisoning tragedy, mother's statement before her death emerges: 'We woke up with nausea'

It was learned that mother Çiğdem Böcek stated that they came to Istanbul for tourism purposes with her husband and children on November 9, 2025, began staying at the Harbour Suit Hotel, ate kebabs with her husband at a restaurant near the hotel in the evening, while the children ate pasta, and on the morning of November 10, they drank soup with her husband again near the hotel, while the children ate pastries, and in the evening, she and her husband ate minced meat pita near the hotel, while the children ate sausage and cheddar pizza.

Continuing her statement, it was reported that Böcek said that on the morning of November 11, 2025, her husband bought pastries and simit from outside and they had breakfast at the hotel, that around 16:00, the family ate one mussel each from a street vendor's cart near the Ortaköy Mosque, operated by a man in his 45s-50s with a dirty beard, gray hair, and wearing a hat, and later drank soup at a restaurant called Golden Kokoreç Midye located on Dereboyu Street, that subsequently her children ate sausage sandwiches, her husband ate kokoreç, her son Kadir Muhammet took only one bite of the kokoreç, and she ate chicken tantuni, and later they bought Turkish delight from a shop called Hürrem Sultan Bazaar in Fatih and ate the Turkish delight together.

"WE WOKE UP WITH NAUSEA"

Stating that they woke up with nausea around 01:00 on the night of November 12, 2025, Böcek said that they went to Bezmialem Hospital around 09:00, that she and her husband were given IV fluids and prescribed stomach protectors and painkillers, that they went to Çapa Hospital because the children were not examined at Bezmialem Hospital, where probiotics were prescribed for the children and no other treatment was applied, and that they later went to the hotel and did not eat anything that day due to stomach discomfort. In the continuation of her statement, Böcek said that they called an ambulance to the hotel on November 13 around 01:00 because they became ill again and were taken to the hospital.
