Police and night watchmen just watched: Statement from the Diyarbakır Governor's Office regarding the footage

"The proceedings for the 16 individuals who entered two separate businesses in the Sur and Kayapınar districts of Diyarbakır on Saturday, June 22, 2024, are being carried out by the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department.
They will be referred to the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today."

The Diyarbakır Governor's Office issued a statement regarding the footage that led to allegations that "night watchmen allowed individuals to enter the businesses in the city" during the attacks that caused fear among those sitting in Starbucks and Burger King in Diyarbakır.
The statement is as follows:
"Regarding the action taken against a workplace in our city on June 22, 2024, there are posts on some social media accounts claiming that the night watchmen remained spectators to the incident and allowed the protesters to enter.
However, this footage was taken while the protesters were being escorted out by the night watchmen.
Respectfully announced to the public."

SUSPECTS RELEASED
Within the scope of the investigation launched into the attack carried out by a group on the branches of some chain businesses in the Sur and Kayapınar districts on the evening of June 22, in order to react to Israel's massacre in Gaza, 16 suspects were detained.
After their statements at the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Department, the suspects were referred to the courthouse.
While 15 of the suspects were released after their statements to the prosecutor's office, 1 person was released by the court with a judicial control decision.
