In Ankara, police intervened against a group that gathered to protest the NATO Summit.

THEY GATHERED IN KURTULUŞ PARK

Police teams intervened against the group that gathered in Kurtuluş Park at 10:00 AM following a call by the "No to NATO Coordination."

During the intervention, many people, including Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş, TİP Spokesperson Sera Kadıgil, DEM Party MP Keziban Konukçu, EMEP MPs İskender Bayhan and Sevda Karaca, and Halkevleri Chairwoman Sevinç Hocaoğulları, were surrounded by police.

JOURNALISTS PREVENTED FROM FILMING

According to Birgün, police teams surrounded the organization representatives and protesters with shields to prevent journalists from filming. Journalists at the scene were also removed from the area.

Following the intervention, many people were detained with their hands cuffed behind their backs. The moment a person inside a police vehicle was choked was captured on video by those nearby.
