According to the report in Cumhuriyet, the HKP members, carrying party banners, wanted to march from Beşiktaş to Taksim Square to celebrate May Day. The police intervened against the group harshly.
During the intervention, many people were detained with their hands cuffed behind their backs. It was observed that HKP executives were also among those detained.
