Police intervention in March 19 protest in Ankara: Students surrounded
A police intervention took place during an event held in Ankara on the first anniversary of the detention of Republican People's Party (CHP) presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and the subsequent protests that began across the country.
Citizens were invited to gather on Konur Street at 19:00 on the evening of March 24, following a call by the CHP Ankara Provincial Presidency and Youth Branches titled "We are marching in Ankara with the spirit of March 19."
According to information obtained, students and citizens who gathered as part of the event were surrounded by police teams.
While extensive security measures were taken in the area, it was reported that the entrances and exits of the street were brought under control.
