Police officer carries district governor's shoes: Footage sparks backlash

Footage allegedly showing a protection police officer waiting for the district governor at the exit of a mosque while holding shoes and a shoehorn in Yenice, Karabük, has caused a stir.

It is claimed that a protection police officer was waiting for Yenice District Governor Mert Can Çanga at the exit of the mosque with his shoes and a shoehorn in hand.

Lawyer Mustafa Kemal Çiçek, who shared the footage on his social media account, stated that the incident took place at the Yeşil Mosque in the district.

'I AM A SERVANT OF ORDERS'

Çiçek claimed that he warned the protection officer, telling him that such a task was not part of his duties, to which the officer allegedly replied, "I am a servant of orders."

The fact that the district governor had the protection officer carry his shoes has sparked reactions on social media.

Lawyer Mustafa Kemal Çiçek, who shared the footage on his social media account, stated, "In the house of ALLAH, where there is absolute equality, a Turkish police officer is not a shoe-carrier for a 30-year-old salaried bureaucrat!"
