Police officer killed after being struck by drunk specialist sergeant fleeing checkpoint in Adana
In the Sarıçam district of Adana, a car that failed to comply with a 'stop' order at a police checkpoint struck a police officer. It was determined that the driver, who was identified as a specialist sergeant, was intoxicated, and the police officer was killed in the incident.
On Sezai Karakoç Boulevard in Sarıçam, Adana, a car with license plate 31 AED 634, driven by Murat A., failed to comply with a 'stop' order and struck police officer Mustafa Akgül at high speed.
The car then came to a stop after hitting a traffic signal pole on the median.

Following the report of the incident via radio dispatch, medical teams and police reinforcements were sent to the scene.
The police officer, who was dragged for meters under the car, was killed.

According to reports by Habertürk, it was determined that the driver, who was identified as a specialist sergeant, was intoxicated.
Following the investigation at the scene, Akgül's body was taken to the morgue of the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute.
