Yahya Sinwar, the movement's leader in the Gaza Strip, has been elected to replace Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was assassinated in Iran.

Following Haniyeh's assassination in Iran, groups wishing to protest Israel hung a giant poster of Ismail Haniyeh last week on the Diyarbakır Walls, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Today, a poster of Hamas' new leader, Yahya Sinwar, was hung on the Diyarbakır Walls. The poster read, "Thousands of greetings from Diyarbakır to the Mujahid leader Yahya Sinwar."
