As the hearing continued at the Büyükçekmece 10th Criminal Court of First Instance, the prosecutor requested a new expert report, citing contradictions between existing reports.
The trial of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who faces 3 to 7 years in prison on charges of "rigging a tender" during his time as Mayor of Beylikdüzü for allegedly awarding a contract to a company that did not meet the necessary conditions, continued at the Büyükçekmece 10th Criminal Court of First Instance.
The hearing was attended by the lawyers of the 7 defendants being tried without arrest alongside İmamoğlu, as well as the lawyer for the Ministry of Interior, which is an intervening party in the case.
The prosecutor stated that there was a discrepancy between the expert report from the investigation phase and the expert report obtained during the prosecution phase, and requested that a new expert report be prepared. The judge decided to obtain a report from a new 3-person expert panel and adjourned the hearing to October 2.
