The drop in potato prices to 4 liras in the fields in Nevşehir has sparked a reaction from producers. At a meeting attended by CHP provincial and district chairs, it was decided to hold a protest on August 29.
In Nevşehir, which holds an important place in potato production, the rapid decline in prices this year has left producers in a difficult situation. Potatoes finding buyers at 4 liras in the field have caused great disappointment among producers.
According to the local news site nevsehirkenthaber, potato producers came together at a meeting held with the participation of CHP Nevşehir Provincial Chair Bülent Yumuş and CHP Derinkuyu District Chair Soner Barut. At the meeting, a decision was made to hold a protest against the falling potato prices.
