Preparations in Mamak before Erdoğan's arrival: District Directorate of National Education sends message to 39 high schools

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will attend a mass opening ceremony in Mamak, Ankara, today.

Regarding the ceremony that Erdoğan will attend, AKP Mamak Mayor Murat Köse sent an SMS to citizens stating, "We are hosting our esteemed President Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in our beautiful Mamak today. With the attendance of our President, our Mass Opening Ceremony will take place at 15:00 on Yeşilbayır, Sağduyu Street. All our fellow citizens from Mamak are invited."

THE DIRECTORATE OF NATIONAL EDUCATION ALSO SENT A MESSAGE

According to the report by İsmail Arı from Birgün, the Mamak District Directorate of National Education also sent a message to the principals of 39 high schools in the district yesterday. The message stated, "Our President is coming to the mass opening ceremony. We are expecting our 11th and 12th-grade students, teachers, and administrators." Furthermore, school principals were asked to report the number of students and teachers they would bring to the opening.

The school principals reached "confirmed that the District Directorate of National Education had such a request. Some school principals, however, said, 'They asked for such a thing, but we are not taking our students; we do not find this situation appropriate.'"

Eğitim Sen Ankara Branch No. 1 Secretary Sibel Gökçe Evci stated in her remarks, "The Mamak District Directorate of National Education, without an official letter, gave instructions via WhatsApp to the principals of 39 high schools to take students and teachers to the opening. We will not allow students and teachers to be taken to an AKP political propaganda rally under the guise of an opening ceremony before the local elections. We do not find it appropriate for them to use our students as a political crowd. We also call on our parents to be vigilant."
